The reflections and refractions are always correctly raytraced, even when they are produced by the z-buffer rendering. Transparencies, reflections, and refractions can be applied at the z-buffer and raytrace levels. Patterns in shaders can be pre-captured images or can be produced by a procedure. A Material is defined by up to four layers of shaders, which produce color, reflections, transparency, and bump effects. State of the art shaders are used to render surfaces and other effects. Sky backgrounds that are procedurally generated come close to real skies that you may have captured with your camera. Blur is an example of a post processing effect that simulates focusing your camera to a particular area of your modeling scene.

Other light types produce soft (mapped) or hard (raytraced) shadows.Ĭubic and spherical environment mapping, bumps, backgrounds that include alpha channel support, depth effects, and post processing effects can be applied. Environment and atmospheric lights are advanced lights, which are especially optimized for global illumination. Lights may appear to glow in images, simulating the reflection of lights off dust particles in the air. One or more lights can be used, which can be ambient, distant (sun), cone, point, projector, area, custom, line, environment, and atmospheric lights. In RenderZone, global illumination includes final gather, ambient occlusion, and radiosity techniques, which can be applied separately or can be combined. RenderZone also includes the ability to produce images based on global illumination techniques, which create renderings with the most realism, as the illumination of a scene takes into account the accurate distribution of light in the environment. A user can start developing the image of a 3D model at the simple level and gradually turn on features and render it at the most photorealistic level.

It offers three levels of rendering: simple, z-buffer, and raytrace. As with the previous group, color information is derived from the materials.RenderZone allows you to create photorealistic renderings based on the LightWorks® rendering engine.

The color information of the resulting image is created from the materials assigned to objects and faces.Ĭontour, Hatch, Mosaic, Oil Painting, Stipple: These sketch styles use only shaded images as the base rendering. Only line information is processed and the material assigned to the objects is not relevant.Ĭartoon, Color Wash, Lines And Shadows: These sketch styles are generated as a combination of shaded images and hidden line images. Hand Drawn, Ink Print, Rough Pencil, Soft Pencil: These four sketch styles are based on a hidden line image. Style: This pull down menu contains 13 items organized in three different groups, as shown.

When Preview is on, the rendering is lower in quality but is generated faster.

When Full is on, the sketch rendering is generated with the best possible quality. Rendering Type: This pull down menu contains two items: Full and Preview. The sketch style and its parameters can be selected from the Sketch Render Options dialog, as shown. Note that, unlike RenderZone renderings, which are displayed one scanline at a time as the rendering proceeds, the image of a sketch rendering is displayed as a whole after the entire rendering is completed. One of a number of different sketch styles is then applied to the base image and the result is displayed on the screen. This rendering is automatically executed first, invisible to the user. A sketch rendering is based on an original rendering, which is either a Hidden Line or RenderZone image. A sketch rendering is executed the same way as any of the other rendering modes, by selecting the respective command from the Display menu or by clicking on its icon in the top tool bar.
